This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, and strategic growth across physician coding, auditing, education, and compliance services.

Job description:

Overview
Health Information Partners® is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Outpatient Surgery Coder to join our team full-time. This role focuses on accurate coding of outpatient surgical procedures across multiple specialties, supporting compliant reimbursement and timely claim submission.

Duties

Review and analyze outpatient surgery medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
Ensure proper sequencing of codes per federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines
Verify coding and billing accuracy to support clean claims and optimal reimbursement
Collaborate with revenue cycle, compliance, and clinical teams to resolve edits, denials, and documentation gaps
Participate in coding audits and quality assurance initiatives
Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality
Support onboarding and training for new coding staff
Contribute to workflow and process improvements related to outpatient surgery coding

Requirements

Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent required.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in outpatient coding.
Proven experience in medical coding with a strong understanding of ICD coding, CPT coding, DRG classifications, and medical billing processes.
Familiarity with EPIC system is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately.
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
